Day 1: Terror in Eldorado Springs

Christmas day, 2003.
Arvind was barely out of the airport when the question hit him: "Want to go climbing?". Befuddled by hours on the airplane, Arvind said yes. Sucker.

Before reporting to Fort Collins to rendevous with an entire house full of Petersons (12!), John and Arvind made a "slight detour" to Eldorado Canyon State Park to do a "quick" climb. The route: The Bomb, a 5.4 to the right of Calypso on the Wind Tower.

This route is too wimpy to be diagrammed on this picture. It climbs cracks to the right of the flake leaning against the wall.

Perfect weather! After a short hike we were at the base.

"How does this knot work?"

"Tell me again how to belay."

Please, Please. Don't let go of the rope!

What am I doing here?

Can you hold the rope so I can rest?

No! Climb like a Man!!

Did I really climb THAT?

Oh No!
Petersons are Everywhere!
Take me home!
