John and Jay in Acadia

Holiday Greetings 2004

2004 has brought some changes to our family. Eric is now 17 and has to start thinking of college. Soon! He’s also become a very accomplished kayaker and is now way better than poor, old, decrepit John. This fall he won a freestyle kayaking competition at Ohiopyle Falls in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately the chances of becoming a professional kayaker are about nil so he’ll have to keep going to school. But he’s decided that being a river guide would be a lot of fun – we’ll see if he can find a job on the water this summer.
Jay almost 12, and is now in middle school – he really thinks they give him way too much homework but nobody seems to feel very sorry for him. He’s still climbing with John – at least when he’s not playing video games.
John finally ran out of funding at Yale and now has to work for a living. This year he teaching at Central Connecticut State University – it’s a one year appointment so who knows where next year will bring the Peterson gang.
Marti has been doing a lot of quilting along with keeping everything going at home. Her knee never recovered 100% after the surgery so she doesn’t get out as much as she used to.

We wish you all a happy holiday!
