Big changes in Petersonland this year! We packed up all our belongings and moved across country. We are now in Gunnison , Colorado , in the heart of the Rocky Mountains . John has a new job teaching at Western State College . It's a small department but the college is great and he's slowly adjusting to his new position. Marti is busy with quilting projects, and will be teaching a web design class this spring.

Eric is a senior in the local high school. Things are a little different here – he was able to take a class in outdoor recreation. That means kayaking, climbing, hiking, and skiing. He's getting ready for college next year – he plans to stay in or near Colorado and study computers.

Jay is in 7th grade. He's doing OK but he's going through a period of rebellion against anything not involved with computer gaming. He likes Gunnison and has found some good friends in his new school.

Gunnison is the greatest place in the world! We're never planning to move again. The fall colors are just as good as Connecticut . There are lots of aspen around, which means a lot of bright yellow in fall. It's not that bad in the winter – we had a few cold days (almost -40!) but it's usually very pleasant out even in the winter. And we have groomed ski trails just one minute from home. In the summer, there is climbing and mountain biking right next to where we live. Plus tons of climbing and kayaking. We're just 10 minutes from town and have plenty of room for guests – come visit anytime!
