The Long Walk - Another Opinion
Anyway, I was
browsing through some of your other Gunks-related pages and noticed you
put 'Long Walk For A Man...' in the hall of shame list. Why? I mean, yeah,
it's a bit dirty - hell, practically no one climbs it! - but I was up on
it Memorial Day Weekend, and found it a beautiful route. Nicely protectable,
some nice moves, pleasant climbing all around (okay, the exit to the rap
tree kinda sucked, but I dealt with that after the nice climbing below), and
never outrageous. Despite the build-up of sediment on the holds (which wasn't
that much of a problem; I just brushed it away), I thought the route quite
nice and deserving of some recognition.
*shrug*
Maybe I was braced for an epic and found something far less. But my partner
that day liked it, too, (after humoring me to go check it out; she wasn't
interested in the walk, just there to climb)
